Once the dressing has been removed it is important to to keep the area clean and avoid rubbing, picking or scratching the area, as this will further irritate the tender skin.

It is a common misconception that professional peels must be aggressive, high concentration solutions that result in excessive visible peeling, scabbing and downtime to obtain results. This may be appropriate for specific conditions such as extremely thickened or asphyxiated skins and severe scarring perhaps, but is not necessary for the majority of patients looking for skin rejuvenation. If the goal is healthy, beautiful skin then the progressive, low dose approach to professional treatments is usually the best choice. Peels of different strengths and combinations can utilised within a treatment plan to increase the skin’s natural skin cell turnover rate while addressing your specific skin concerns, resulting in smoother, brighter, more even-looking skin.
